Teknetics Vs 705

High names Larry. I am upgrading detectors and have been holding out for the G2. Never thought I could afford a Minelab. Kellyco has a good deal on the 705 now so I took a good look at the 705 specs and was impressed. The 705 seems to be a more versatile detector. Like the idea of having 3 freq to use. Thought I would see if I could get your opinions on the 705 compared to the Teknetics detectors depth and functions. Thanks for your time with the opinions.

Give indian nations a call . They are a forum sponsor he has the best deal I know of right now on minelab 505's and 705's . I do not think you will find anybody with a better deal right now than him.

Isn't the Technetics G2 the exact same machine as the 'new' Fisher Gold Bug Pro, except it has a 11" DD instead of a 5" DD as the standard stock search coil ?? (Both are set at 19 kHz frequency and the 11" DD is available as an optional coil for the Gold Bug Pro.)

I do not know which machine is deeper and also not enough about the G2 to give you an opinion but the X-705 looks to have more options and is foreign made. The G2 looks very light weight, has good features, and is made in America. Too bad you couldn't have a side by side comparison of both machines on buried targets in a test garden.

Forget and do not get Garrett(GTI 2500) and Tesoro(Cortes) for top high end - latest technology. But also do look at the Technetics T2 Ltd Camo, Fisher F75 Ltd, and Whites Spectra V3i & the 'new' MXT Pro when shopping. I have a X-70 and know you cannot go wrong with the X-705, it is a great machine, has 3 frequencies, and handles EMI interference with its V-Flex. There was a complaint with the Fisher F75 not handling EMI very well.

Good luck shopping.

Backwoods Detector Sales (sponsor here) will give you a great deal on
any Minelab Detector or any other one. Honest, sincere people.

Hi Larry
I can only speak of the 705 and say it is a great machine. As you have pointed out it has three frequencies and they all have their place. It

I might add that of the Tek machines, the T-2 with the stock 11" bi-axial coil is the only one that comes close to the 705 with the 10.5DD coils for performance... MO
