I hit a couple of parks/soccer fields today with the Golden

Shame on you.You go out for gold and bring back some old silver.Concentrate,focus.You got to be either real lucky or darn good to go out searching for a gold ring and then find one.One day i cut my detector on and walked ten feet, first signal,a huge gold and diamond ring. How often will that happen?:O

Still nice to find silver...that golden uMax is the bomb for parks. I may need to get one someday

hey tab, looks like those coins have been in the ground 20 years, you have that all to yourself. I think more ring will follow

I'd say pretty good all things considered.

The thing about finding gold rings, it just happens when you least expect it. I just keep plugging away and digging.

The Golden sure hits super hard on coins. Its high tone will wake you up and get you to digging.

Tabman, I noticed that the silver coin is slightly damaged....that could account for the mix of tones on the Golden. HH Pete

Furious T is too smart.I mean this dude is the brains of metal detecting.Have y'all noticed this? :-Q

I have been concerned as well regarding Tabman's finds lately...they are all covered in dirt and look like subsurface targets! Wheres all the new clad?
Are we gonna run out of finds soon?

If we ever get rid of all this snow I could try out my new (to me) Golden. Played a little in the house but to much emi I think. Between the underground fence and all the electronics in the house I was struggling. Nickels we pretty scratchy sounding. Pennies, dimes and quarters sounded nice. Just was messin with it for a little bit. It is different not having vid. It sure is lite. Can't wait for a break in the weather. Keep reading you Tesoro guru's posts and thought I better quit losing out on all this gold and silver.

SpiritRelic,
If I can help other members/detectorists with any knowledge or experience I have, then I enjoy doing that. :) I should say that there are many people on the forums with more knowledge and experience than I have, and many of these give assistance to others.
Speaking for myself, I still have much to learn, and that is one of the things I love about this hobby. If the day ever comes when I think I know everything, then it will be time for me to give it away. Joining in on the forums is one way we can share our experiences and help each other to enjoy detecting.

Nickels do sound scratchy. You can change the sound they hit on with the notch width control while not in notch mode.Engage the narrow to wide notch mode also and the nickel will hit on a smooth middle tone. The detector changes so much while engaged in wide notch. o_O

Thanks for the info, I think I will really like this machine after I get some time on it! Thanks to all of you keep posting all those tips and videos you guys are great!
