Tesoro Notch units...Old and new..

We all know or should know Tesoro units love gold jewelry especially the small stuff and notch units help sort the good from the bad..Over the years have used from the Golden Sabre Plus right thru the Golden U-max and dug some nice gold jewelry along the way...Personally didn't like the first Golden U-max but have to congragulate Tesoro as the remake of the tones really improved it. Goes to prove you don't have to spend an arm and leg to get the goodies and well Tesoro's service after the sale is
unbeatable....

..Dan....I am Not a big fan of the Notch units....I mean I have the feature on several detectors that I use but normally do Not use it.....Now saying that I prefer some of the more simple Tesoro's such as the Sidewinder and the Bandido...I mean.... I like to find it all.... but if I get into a really trashy area I use the old Manual set method of Notch.....I mean I start hunting with the detector set to eliminate the average size iron nail.....once I get a signal ....I reset the dial to where the Pull tabs give a chatter/breaks up..this is already marked on my detector.....so if the detector chatters it is a Pull tab...if it is Positive signal it is a Coin....if the signal goes quiet...it is either a Nickel/Gold....of course this is Not Fool Proof .......but it can be used on any detector ......

Thanks Joe. I have a sidwinder coming to me. Had one a long time ago and did very well with it so I decided to get another one.

Have a Sidewinder as well and also have it marked as you do kinda I do basicly the same thing with it was thinking about upgrading to an Outlaw just not sure . Recently got another Toltec II like I had many Yrs ago and love it killer Nichol and small gold machine Grandson used it yesterday and left Slobber marks on it! LOL
