Tesoro pin pointer?

Member
Hello everyone,
I'm getting back into detecting after stepping away from if for a few years. I recently scored a great deal on
a like new Cutlass II uMax and am excited about seeing what it can do. I have enjoyed reading the forum and
the wisdom shared within. I think I already know the answer, but here goes...does Tesoro make a
pin pointer? Haven't seen even a hint of one. Seems like it would be a natural. Is my best bet a Garrett Pro?
What do you guys use and recommend? Thanks!

Garrett Pro Pointer is the best and is a must have. Period:)

I agree with tabman. The Pro Pointer is the best I've ever used. And no, Tesoro doesn't make one as fas as I know. I guess they figure that there are plenty out there so why bother. That way they can concentrate on making some of the best detectors in the world!

Sure they do.
It's called a the Treasure mate and it comes with a lifetime warranty, too.

Best if you are looking for gold I have read.

The Garrett Propointer has become the "must have" pinpointer for most of us.

There are other models out there, but I've never felt the need to replace my Garrett.

I didn't know that. Why can't I find it on their website? :rage:

Garrett Propointer for sure. Its the best all around, most durable one I've used. I had a Detector Pro Pistol Probe and it was very good, better that the Garrett on depth, but not nearly as durable and also a pain in the butt to re-holster. My Garrett is the nearest competitor to the Detector Pro in my opinion as far as depth. And the way it increases in intensity the closer the target is makes it really easy to locate what your looking for.

Thanks all for the responses. Garrett Pro it is then. Appreciate the comments. I'll post finds as they merit :)

I am usually on a knee when I need to pinpoint and honestly, my arms aren't long enough to keep reaching for the MD..
I see a Garrett PP in my near future.

As light as most Tesoros are, I just pick mine up and use IT as a pinpointer. Works for me.

I have both and they each have their strengths. The Treasuremate is a bit finicky to tune, but works well and the depth is similar to the Garrett PP. The Garrett is turn on and go, but mine gets quirky every once in a while. Either one will do the job however.

the funny thing is, the Treasure mate goes 2.5 inches deep.
