Tesoro repairing old units

Does Tesoro repair all old units? My golden sabre plus went crazy for about an hour then it died. I checked out a few simple things to no avail.
I have no problem sending the unit into tesoro along with $50 for them to check out but not if they can't/ won't fix it.

I'm not the original owner, probably not even close. I emailed Tesoro but they never replied, I should probably just call. This is the fourth Tesoro for me, Tesoros are all I use.

Yes they will if they are able. If not original owner then it costs $50 plus possibly extra if repairs are extensive. :)

Hi chainsmoker, I'm sure Tesoro will be glad to fix it providing they have all the piecy parts. I had problems with one of my Sidewinder µMax that had been submerged during Katrina and Tesoro said they no longer had the PC boards for it. That's to be expected for a machine 21 or more years old! Overall from their beginning Tesoro showed everyone else how to take care of their customers. HH Charlie

Just send in the control box and coil. Along with the payment of $50 add a note saying you're not interested in buying a new Tesoro currently and monies tight. Trust me,I've done this before.

Usually the 50 covers the repair unless it's really bad and have to replace a bunch of components on the board.

I'm going to do this, but it will probably be a few weeks.

This is easy Chainsmoker, just give them a call on the phone and ask for the repair dept. Tell them what you have and they'll give you instructions on returning it. I've only sent one detector to them over all these years and they are the best to work with. Had Rusty check some knobs on an old bandido II µMax for me. He sent a nice handwritten note back along with a copy of his favorite operating instructions for getting the most out of the machine.

Best of luck getting the Golden Sabre Plus back up and working.

I have an update on the golden sabre plus. Yesterday I decided the battery test switch felt funny so before I sending it back I tested it. The switch ended up being bad so I replaced it. Everything is now working just fine.
Thanks for all your responses, if there is a next time on any of my Tesoros I will call first.

Well done.
