General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

For sale is a good condition Silver UMax that has a very nicely done 10 turn Bourns ground balance added. Machine works great and allows for power balancing and changing of coils if desired. Ships to lower 48 states US only. Postal money order or PayPal gift.

Yes, a 5 pin umax clean sweep coil would be no problem and would work great on this machine for it's intended purpose.
 
So how do you ground ballance this without a threshold ? Does one simply goto all metal mode and Bob the coil and keep cranking the ground until the tone remains the same? Just curious .
 
Essentially yes, what you described. It's so easy to do with the 10 turn pot because you have such a fine adjustment range. Search for Power Balancing.' ... How to Ground Balance in a silent-search Disc. mode and you will find the explanation in detail.
 
I was actually thinking the same thing . theres no other way without threshold but power ballancing . This was mentioned in detail years back about the Cibola. I'm dumb when it comes to all this modification stuff . LOL

Mine is easy to Gb just bob the coil till it gets unstable then back it off , the GB is a tremendous improvement on the umax

Decided to keep. I forgot how much work I actually did to this machine with carefully replacing the pot and the capacitors.
 
I would still consider, but with a price of $215 by the time I pay to ship, I think it is worth just keeping. I had some inquiries about the modifications done and it made me realize how much time and effort I spent researching and doing the work. It is probably worth more to me than most and it still is a great machine for me even though I have plans to concentrate on using my other machines this year.
