Tesoro's are still worth a couple of $$

With shipping the buyer was looking at approx. $350, not sure about sales tax.

Before Tesoro shut down, I bought a Compadre for $105. Now I haven't seen one go for less than $200 on feebay.

I have 5 tesoros and always have an eye peeled for other pristine units...... because thats the machine i first got as a gift then discovered this cool ageless hobby.... i have some old fishers too.. i found my oldest coin a japanese coin that i was told at a MD show was from 1640.... it was 13" deep and i found it with a super tuned ( 53 silvers method) tesoro vaquero......

i still bring them out and its a different excitement i get because i know that tone sound means many different things for me it really does put the fun back into it,,,,,, but man theres so much more digging BUT wow on the good targets you think is trash..,

I recently found a Shadow X2, aka Silver Sabre in pristine condition. However, it didn't have a Shadow coil Instead just a Tesoro 8'. Guy said that was the way he bought it a show ???
I drove many miles to get the machine, so I bought it as is, I have several shadow coils. It was my 1st born and that's how I got into this hobby. Best starter machine ever !!! Found my 1st gold ring 3 weeks into ownership. 8g men's signet ring with NO initials ??? Machine paid for itself. I think those Shadows are also going for a good price as no one will let go !!!!

for OLD units, they are indeed worth SOME asking prices.................. With that being said I personally dont trust any Flee-bay pricing for 2 reasons.. One being so many instances that the bidders dont have a real clue on what the units are worth.... And secondly, people who post on many occasions have their friends bid on their auctions just to get the price bumped up beyond what the true value may be.. Seen that on many bids yrs ago.

I have a Cibola and Tejon here. Tejon has revealed many targets other guys walk over because it can unmask in iron infested grounds incredibly well. I like how quiet they run and the roll tones on good targets is really tough to beat. I do like the Cibola for relic hunting due to it's lack of ground sensitivity. Works well in bad grounds.

I can't quite agree with that.
It’s really up to you to decide what the device is worth to you and what you want to bid.
After all, nobody is forcing you to outbid the fake bids placed by that shady bunch.
I had a conversation like that just a few days ago with a dealer who was offering Tesoro coils—it came up casually during a detector auction.
When I asked what he wanted for one, he replied that he’d already been offered 350—but I could have it for 400.
Hahaha... man, go eat dirt and drop dead. I wouldn't spend that much even for a brand-new detector with that coil.
I suspect these guys used to sell LRLs.
But there are other ways to go about it.
For instance, I found a list on a dealer's website where he was offering up his entire old stock—including some coil covers for Tesoro units.
After sending an email and having a pleasant phone call, I was able to buy exactly what I wanted at a fair price.
A lot is possible; you just have to do a little research.
And eBay isn't the only marketplace out there.
I’ve found plenty of fantastic deals on Craigslist and other local platforms, for example.
You just have to look—it’s a lot like treasure hunting...
