Test garden

With a Sovereign Elite and Excal in mind I'm eventually going to build a test garden once I get some extra time .
So,I'd really appreciate some advice and ideas. How large should I make it. Max target depth, spacing.
How have you guys designed yours?

I use dimes because if you can detect a dime at depth you can get any other coin, 5", 6",7" 8" 9" and 10" dimes spaced 20" apart then bury some on edge 3" 5" 7" and take a quarter and bury that at 12" i can hit on dimes at 10" and in pinpont with the coil 3" off the ground and a quarter in pinpont at 14" deep
