I can't believe it, I feel like I have been in the dark for so long with my Explorer and the lights suddenly came on. I sat down and watched Capt_SE's videos on deep silver for over two hours the other night. I had my earphones on and just watched and listened. I listened to the sounds that the coins made. I know that the videos were filmed without the use of headphones but the sounds were still there and the quality was still good enough to still hear it well. It's a good thing I was sitting down during the videos as it hit me like a ton of bricks! I was hearing sounds on the videos that I KNOW I was hearing in the field, but passed them over as being trash. I took the "new" info to a place this weekend that I have been over several times just to try it out. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! I pulled 3 dimes, a flattened silver ring, several wheats and a quarter on Saturday and 2 dimes, several wheats and 2 quarters on Sunday! All Silver and all in a place that myself and two friends have all been over multiple times! One merc was plastered to the side of the hole TOTALLY VERTICAL ON EDGE!!!! I was ecstatic! I pulled 8 pieces where I would have maybe only gotten one or two or even none. I'm telling you guys, watch those videos put on by captn_se. I'M A BELIEVER AND JUST MOVED TO THE NEXT LEVEL!!!

i've listened to all but one of the videos. every sound that i heard are the very ones i listen for when hunting for silver. how did they sound different to you. just looking for some help as i've only got 1 silver and 2i.h. thanks.
 
Let's see if I can say this right, As far as I can tell, I have mostly been listening for that high pitched single solid tone that says "I'm a coin" It's distinct and solid and usually is a coin but seemed to always be a newer clad or penny that wasnt very deep. I'm sure every on here knows that the deeper coins have a higher chance to be silver so the video helped me to understand that the short bursts in pitch up and down but mostly "on" ( I call it "The Ride") , Bryce and others call it "Warble" coupled with the cursor "dancing" along the upper screen from left to right has lead me to the increased silver finds of this last weekend. I sure hope I'm making sense here. In short..... "The Ride" + "The Silver Cursor Dance" + Depth = SILVER in most cases, Not All, but most. Now, everyone blast my theory!!!!!

i've been using digital most of the time but have found that a lot of the 28 range ends up being iron. when i change i can usually use the cursor to eliminate most of these signals. thanks.
 
I used to use digital all the time. In fact I only used Digital and learned my explorer using digital. I switched over to cursor upon recommendation and found that I can see cursor placement and MOVEMENT better and it tells me whats down there much better. Also I use Iron mask @ -6 ( EX2) I know its a pain to have to hear everything but well worth it when I hit a coin in between two peices of trash. And I did that just yesterday.
