Dave J had seen my post concerning my loosing the coil plug screw on my 10" coil for my Omega, which in turn caused it to become very erratic as it wouldn't always make good contact, and pm'ed me that he would "take care of it" and have replacement screws sent to me. Of which, he did and I got them Fed X yesterday via Hector. I never even had to make a phone call. Pretty grand service in my opinion. Although I had robbed the missing screw from another coil, I hadn't used the 10" coil until this morning and promptly dug a 55 Washington quarter at 6." I say promptly, but in our bone dry, hard as concrete dirt, it took me a good ten minutes before I saw the reeded edge of the coin down in the bottom of the hole. I almost gave up on it. As a fairly new Omega user, I continue to be amazed on how well this detector locks on coins. 92 vdi with no bouncing numbers. Oh, 99 sen. 1 disc., 3d tones and gb of 72-77. Again, thanks guys. Mr. Dave J is an amazing man.. He always puts the good of the company first and foremost.. And he isn't only proficient, he's a nice Guy too.

Glad you are getting more and more good results with your Omega Jim....I know your being an experienced detectoist your word holds a lot weight with me.And you always, always, tell it like it is in the real world of detecting........Thanks for your posts and updates..

It's nice to hear your `10" is working well for you as well. One thing about the Omega, or really any of the Teknetics models I use, is that they work, and work well with their stock coils and the accessory coils.

Elton, thanks for the kind words. As you know, it took me a while to really warm up to the Omega. Admittedly, it wasn't love at first swing. Once, however, I began to get used to it a bit and started realizing just how good it is for coin shooting in trash settings of slaw, tabs, foil and bottle caps, I've grown particularly fond of it. how's the depth overall on the omega?..in your experience,would you say it is "close"
to your standard f-75 using the 5" dd coil?..thanks!

j.t., I've not found coins with any of the coils as deep with the Omega as I did with the F 75. However, many of the places I am hunting with the Omega has been hunted previously with the F 75, T2 and F 75 LTD and of late about the only good targets I'm still finding with any detector there are iffy ones and ones being unmasked. Over all, though, I don't find the Omega to be quite as deep. What it is, however, is a quiet and stable running machine that locks on targets great with little to no vdi bounce, isn't bothered much with emi problems, is excellent at unmasking targets in our typical coin shooting settings and is a detector with very nice depth. i wanted to take a chance on it earlier in the game,due to the lower frequency because like you,i'm chasin' coins ,not relics!
clearer audio ,and more stable id at depth makes the hunt more enjoyable over all,and if it's getting down 7 or 8 inches ,or so on a sliver dime
then ya pretty much got it by the nuts ,along with the super fast processor,and the 5" on the business end!..it appears a lot are jumping on board,
and i may take a shot at one soon!..curious about the g2 though,as i hear dave j has tweaked this detector electrically,and maybe it will be the "new"
hot set-up!..fingers crossed?..thanks for the input!..jim!
