at the funeral and burial! There was some heavy traffic on I-270 and took awhile to get to I-44, but we made it with God's protective arms around us in Jesus' sweet name! We made it to Rolla and picked up my sister, Carolyn, and headed on to Salem, arriving there about 10:30 after starting out at 8:00pm. Huge black clouds were in the western sky and we did get rain as it followed behind us for awhile, but I prayed and Carolyn had prayed that there wouldn't be any rain during the funeral and burial and God answered our prayers, but the sun was sure hot at the cemetery, as the storms they had down that way had taken all of the trees down and/or uprooted and sure looked different and without much shade....only one large and one small tree left to shade anyone in the cemetery, but Praise God no tombstones were damaged.....God is soooo good, as there was one dead tree near dad's and mom's graves that didn't harm their monument.

Wanda, Carolyn and I left and headed for Highway 32 to Salem and, again, there were huge black clouds in the west and looked like a storm was coming! I was praying that we wouldn't get any, but the rain came and poured down so hard, Wanda could hardly see to drive and with a two lane highway it was even worse to see the lane we were to drive on, but I kept praying out loud, Lord, please watch over and protect us from all harm and please allow the rain to stop! It did finally ease up and was just sprinkling by the time we got into the city of Salem and then after we returned to Rolla to drop Carolyn off where her husband, David, was picking her up, we didn't have any more rain and arrived back to my house at 8:00 pm. We started from my house at 8:00 in the morning and she got me back home at 8:00 in the evening. Wanda is a good driver, but she drives faster than I do, but that's okay, as all went well with our trip, the funeral and the burial!

One man who came and had known Cliff and served Dad and Mom with LP Gas while on the farm said, that he was so happy that Cliff had returned home to his childhood and was buried in the family plot! Yes, I too, am glad and have peace now that he is buried next to our dad's grave!

Virginia had the most wonderful Christian service that Cliff would have ever wanted...maybe he was with us in spirit...anyway I hope so! It was all about the blood of Jesus, God's salvation grace and she read some of the Psalms, which Cliff had read, too, for he really loved the Psalms and of course many other scriptures in the Bible. Gospel songs were played and John, her husband, read Psalm 23 which he read loudly on part and we read loudly on part! There were beautiful prayers prayed and many nice words said about Cliff and his goodness to others. All I have heard from others is that he was a good and sweet person, kind-hearted, loving and very forgiving! He was at peace and we will be with Jesus in our heavenly home in the sweet by and by!

I am and will miss him terribly, but I am happy to know he was saved in Jesus and died in peace, for he knew the best was yet to come! He had a hard life growing up on the farm, in the service, and raising a family with an unruly son always getting into trouble, and a divroce from his former wife, whom he never quit loving and they remained friends, he did not have unforgiveness towards her and I had asked him to forgive me for anything I had done or said that hurt him in any way, but he had so much forgiveness that he had forgiven a long time ago! He too had said and done things wrong and; therefore, was able to forgive as God had forgiven him! Amen! God Bless! Ma Betty

Someday we will see him again! :)

Thanks 7centsworth and Mike in Mi....God sure is good to me and I give Him Praise for what He's done in my life to bless me so much! God Bless! Betty

I just replied to your other post and again am sorry, I had been wondering and it saddens my heart even though I don't know you folks. I guess that is one of the things God calls us to is to share in anothers pain.

again
God Bless
Jeff

Thank you, Jeff, and yes we are here to help comfort each other when burdened with sickness, trials and sorrows as well as rejoicing together in our many blessings and joy! Thank you for your words of comfort and we will all meet someday and know who we are in Christ's love in God's city of purest gold and glorious light and be with Jesus, our Savior, forever more! Amen! God Bless! Betty

Thanks Steve! I still have lots to take care of with a Marker for Cliff to get from the VA in the area of Salem, MO and I may see about a monument like my mother and dad has for his grave! Just depends on what the VA Marker looks like! I've seen some that look really nice but others didn't, so will see when I get back to Salem and to the VA. The director of the funeral home gave me a letter and a copy of the paid expenses which I am to provide to the VA as well as his discharge papers and said that I might get some money from the VA....but only God knows for sure...and if He blesses me Okay but if I don't...it is still okay, as I've managed on my own with His help financially since my ex left and I trust and lean on Jesus! Amen! God Bless! Betty
