for the prayers for our trip and the safety of all. Things seem to be going well at home with the rest of the family, and Tim and I have made the first part of our journey just fine. We spent a lot of time in Franklin, North Carolina, doing some mining today. I've done some gem mining before and enjoyed it, and today was no exception. We went to a place where you go and dig your own dirt and then sit down at the flume to sift through for gems. We both found a nice little emerald (each) and a few other gems and rocks. Over the next few days we plan to take a 4 1/2 hour train ride through the mountains (done this before), go to the Sorghum Festival and the Hoedown in Blairsville, Ga., Gold Rush Days in Dahlonega, Ga., Apple Festival in Ellijay Ga., Mountain Harvest Festival in Blue Ridge, Ga., and a few other things. I'm pretty sure we will be panning for gold on Saturday after we leave Gold Rush Days and hearing my favorite Southern Gospel group, the Perrys, perform there. We've been to all these places and done all these things before, but I enjoy it just as much each and everytime. I still hope to drag out my detector this weekend and check out the area around our cabin. Probably isn't much there... but ya never know. Thank you all again for the prayers, and please continue to lift us up when you pray.
