Thanks to everyone with the encouraging words...

When I ordered my Exp2 from Treasurehut, I got the Sunray X1 probe at the same time, and a great deal! Have been watching and reading this forum for a year now and learned a little bit through you all, thanks!
With the battery charging overnight, I had trouble sleeping with the anticipation of using the best of the best! I woke up at 6:00am and couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up. The battery was supposed to charge another 2 hours (by the book) but I could'nt wait anymore!
First day's finds with the Exp2.:
1937 wheat cent out of my back yard which has been hunted thoroughly with DFX, Garret 450, Bounty Hunter, Xterra 30, and Excalibur 1000. came from 10" deep next to two old nails! Also found another 3 pennies and a dime from same backyard.
After getting a feel for it, went to a local park. I started swinging and noticed someone had been there about a week ago - plug cuts and all. Don't like it when guys leave the junk in the holes they dig. Decided to see what I could find.
Well, in the picture is a bunch of pennies, three nickles, two dimes, two matching gold plated earings, a gold chain (broken at clasp) and a 5 and 25 centavos coins from Cuba! A long way from home. The crushed ring in the top right I found in the parking lot. It says Sterling German on the inside.
This machine is incredible! My son was with me and kept running over to my wife showing her what I found next. What a day!
Can't wait for tomorrow!
Anyone out there retire early just so they could spend more time detecting??? I still have about 20 more years to go!
God bless and HH!

Marcus, it does my heart good to hear from a customer and friend who is genuinely happy with his detector. The Exolorer II is defintely the "best of the best", and as you are discovering, it has a virtually unlimited potential. The more one uses it, and listens for those tones, the more that just seems to "jump out of the ground" at you. Great first day finds, with a brand new detector!!!!!:clapping: The X-1 Sunray Probe is also a great addition to the machine. I love helping a customer purchase this combination of equipment, because I know how happy and productive they will be! Continued success my friend!

Hi Marcus,

Regarding the early retirement, I retired 15 years ago (age 45) and believe me there is life after work, in fact I really don't know where I found the time to work.

All the best with the EX II.......Boony

Who couldn't sleep cause I figured out how this machine worked..... Had to re hit spots I've detected years ago...gone over parks that were pounded over and over again only to get stuff like this....Today a 1909-S lincoln...(DAM NO VDB) but a semi key date...
bunch of clads quarters, dimes and memorials.but if you don't dig the Penny's ???...how R U Gonna get the good ones ??? some relics came along with the day hunt to (5)different places. Some days are more productive than others ...but at least you did make it out hunting...
You think I'm gonna get a good nite sleep..NOT..I'm 46 years old... not retired and can't wait till the sun rises hoping my battery has a good charge on it with good weather.....

Your on your way to finding some nice stuff there and wish you the best of luck!

Great finds there, on your first day out Minelab Marcus!!! I know exactly what you mean about not being able to sleep. The first day I got my new Explorer II, I immediately put the battery on charge, assembled the detector, watched the video twice and read the users manual at least 3 times. Dumb old me didn't think to put batteries in the extra battery holder. There was no sleep for me that night either, only a kind of semi sleep between light doze and almost wide awake. I headed out to my back yard around 6:30 AM the next morning, which I also had pounded to death numerous times with my older White's 6000 Di Pro, Eagle II SL, and my last Whites, a Eagle Spectrum. I couldn't believe what the Minelab was finding!!! Numerous Wheat's from the Teens, 20's and 30's. Two Barber Dimes, some Mercury dimes and a silver Washington Quarter. I dug a lot of Iron, not being familiar with the new sounds of the Explorer, but I didn't mind!! All I can say is "WHAT A MACHINE", and what depth!!! Marcus my man, you are going to love the Explorer II, and with the Sunray probe, which I recently added myself, pinpointing and digging those good targets will be a breeze!! Be sure to armor all or Wax your probe, makes it stay like new and is really easy to clean. I would also recommend that you get either the Excelerator 4" X 7" Elliptical DD coil, or the 8" Excelerator coil to use in the parks. Their both excellent to use in trashy areas, and are super coils for those Gold Rings and Jewelry items!! Keep up the Excellent finds and try to get a little bit of sleep!! Happy Hunting and always dig the trash for the treasures***

I do have a 5" excellerator coil on the way from ebay.
Today I tried my hand at old silver and got a reality check. I need lots of practice with this machine. I managed one silver dime (1962) in two hours. Lots of junk inlcuding an old piece of something that gave a real sweet signal and measured 10" deep - I thought - at last something good!
I dug 12" and hit an old gravel road bed, my X1 was telling me it was just on the other side. Took me half an hour to get through the rocks but I kept thinking silver quarter or half dollar! Well, no such luck -just an old plate that looked like the shape of a shoe bottom. It had rust on it, but the digital read out was 4-22 (or something like that).
Oh well, Like you say, gotta dig the trash to get the treasure! Tomorrow is another day!
