I've always wanted to go hunting in west Texas but never got around to it until I had a few days off during Thanksgiving. I don't really recommend it since it was the most boring trip I've ever taken and there's nothing good to eat out there.
The first pick is from a spot I’ve been to twice before. It’s a whole vacant block covered with old bits of glass where someone has dumped debris decades ago. It’s like they cleaned the streets and dumped stuff in this block. It’s stuff you would expect to be lost in the street long ago. The second pick is the 2nd Barber quarter I’ve found there just laying on the surface, face up. I cleaned it the best I could but the reverse is in great shape. 1895O.
The 4th pic was the last site I went to. My pinpointed crapped out on me and the shaft on my 3030 snapped off where it meets the controller. The carbon fiber completely separated rendering it useless. The lower right disk is exactly nickel-sized. Coke machine scammer?
5th pic: T-shaped brasses are ModelT ignition bridges. Left is authentic Ford part, right is aftermarket. Fake Super Bowl ring upper right.
6th pic: the Tootsietoy car is a 1932-1934 Bluebird I. A SOLAR burner knob. Rarish 1934D buffalo. World’s Fair token I’m busy researching. All the wheats were completely toasted. The crust would come off in chunks and reveal the details but not completely.
7th pic: That wheat cent upper left has been shot twice. Either that or shot once with buckshot. I kept the old gas valve since it has the pre-war good luck swastika. The Towers Fish Brand button is from an old slicker suit dating back to 1872. Funny to find that in the desert. The square thing on the right is a ladies compact. I opened it and it still had some makeup in there. The tiny snaps are Carr Fastener Co from 1912-1920. Too bad the Mobilgas/Mobiloil badge lost all its enamel. The chrome Eagle badge is from a Chrysler Imperial.
The last pic is a closeup of the tiny button. I swear it looks like it reads C.S.A. The ones I’ve found before had USA. Thanks for looking. Soon I’ll have some pics from my Christmas trip.
