The ACE 250 Brings home the goods - 1st IH - 1904

A very clean 1904, you can still read "liberty" on the headdress.( I have less than 5 IH pennys in the last 15 years? strange cause I dig like mad! Down south they seem scarse) Also got two Buff's both with dates, 1937 and a cherry 1914 that I wacked with the shovel or one on the thousands of rocks in the dirt  Also found a small pitcher? ?. The red buff was in a wet area and was prob on edge or at some bad angle cause it was a iffy signal. The IH and the other buff were solid signals. i also dug several Shotgun shells and a 44-40 cartridge from 5-6 inches.
Started hunting the flat grass areas and di not find much except the pile of tabs. I then went into CW Relic hunting mode and headed off into the woods to search amoungst the saplings and brush. That's when I hit the IH and the 14 buff. So in future hunts I'll stick to the woods, maybe there's a barber hiding in there somewhere! Also saw a deer and my very first phesant<sp> Very cool!!!! I'm gonna need the larger coil 9x12 or I'll have to drag out the 1265X w/ 12 inch coil to cover more ground. The 6x9 vs. 45 acers is a bit daunting! It's snowing today, was 70 degs out Sat? ? ? Life in the U.P. sure is strange! Yall get out and hunt!!

Nice hunt! Congrats on the old finds! Man you've been doing great findin' those buffs lately. Well done!:clapping:

Good finds in the old stuff. Congrats !!!

Great hunt. I really like that small pitcher. Some people collect miniature copies of famous silver pieces in sterling silver. Great coins too.

Nice little haul and you had company. When Ilived in Northern Idaho the pheasant and chukar were so thick the highways were littered with dead ones struck by cars. I came around a curve one day and there must have been 50 chukars standing in the middle of the road. Grouse were everywhere. We used to come home from work and drive up into the woods and shoot a few grouse for supper. Deer were about as thick there also. I lived in a dinky town of 800 and elk used to come into town and walk down the main street. Aside from the bitter winter at times I miss that place.

Great hunt R-n-R , We are getting more snow as I type. 10" last night and still coming. When will the madness stop. I need to get out there and do some MD'ing. And to answer Burlons question Yes there are plenty of wolves here in Upper Michigan(2000+) is my guess. The DNR says there is only about 1100

The  snow needs to go away!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I'll be "relic hunting" for coins, lol.
