THE INFINIUM LS.....Finally Garrett is advertising the Infinium the RIGHT way!
This is how it is being advertised in their new catalog...It is the first time it is being worded this way. I like it. I have looked in ALL there past catalogs and havent seen this yet.

Reason....well from what I here, Garrett has heard ALOT of complaining over the years by phone about the Infinium being crap or not working like it should in the surf. Little noisy etc. Usually from new Infinium users being disappointed after hearing what it can do with depth, mineralization, etc. Well it was DESIGNED as a prospecting machine...just happens to be in a water proof case.

From my experience and reading others reports...The Infinium purrs like a kitten out in the goldfields and UNDER water...just like it is designed. In the surf, can be noisy, as it is very sensitive to wave action. But in experienced hands even the older Infiniums users got a hold of them and tuned them well. Now, they are even better, but still can be noisy in salt water surfs, and with newbies, can drive them nuts...Thus, your other choice is the SEAHUNTER Mark II....hence the name. Which is what IT was designed for.

I know for sure that when hunting in waist deep salt water the Infinium can be noisy, but put the control box in the water with the rest of detector she is quiet. Mmm, Just like the pics Garrett used to advertise it for,... (wrecks) diving. I think after talking to Garrett couple months ago I got a little p o ed as they were telling me of all the complaining they have got about it from Florida and other beach users, as they (garrett) were seem to be p o ed also. Sorry you guys/gals,... just venting a little here, dont like to see a great detector being bashed by people that dont know why or what it is designed for.

I went to a mining store in Bend Oregon couple months ago and they had an Infinium hanging on the wall, the owner was telling me it is their (Garrett) newest water machine,,,WHAAAAT? I told him that its their top of the line PROSPECTING machine and that is what it is designed for...duh. I said it is Garretts version of the Minelab PI's that are used for prospecting. He look confused, I still dont think he believed me. Well, all he has to do now is read the new Garrett catalog and there is the answer....The All Weather, Rugged, Professional Prospecting Machine.:beers:

The Garrett's Infinium LS have been mentioned many times and many places in conjunction with the name Minelab and it is still taking place.
("I said it is Garretts version of the Minelab PI's that are used for prospecting.")

I have never seen it said the other way around. ( SD - GP-X is Minelabs version of Garrett's PI )

Advertising is what Advertising is !
