Yep, if I lost my job; that's exactly what I'd do. Actually, I'm expecting to lose a few weeks work this winter due to ongoing drought conditions. The boss only reconfirmed that yesterday. I bought a detector that I can hunt gold with during the down times. With the gold fields only an hour away, I think that I can get a coil over it at least a few times.
Sorry to hear that you lost your job. I was out of work for some time before I got my current job. I know how it can effect you. At least detecting will give you something positive to do.

iam actually willing to quit my current job (15$+hr) for a lesser paying happier place
