I'll have to watch the DVD to see how to use, but it sure looks impressive, at first glance.

Just gonna cost you more in coin holders and display cases. Ain't worth it my friend.

Here is how I have decided to organize my coins. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> Ever see these plastic holders for 2x2s? I think they're pretty cool. <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">
My labeler ran out of tape, but once I get another roll I have lots to keep myself busy.

Roy,
I am on the Brown truck watch for my Explorer II from Kellyco also. I ordered it a week ago and still will not get it until thursday. I am excited to get my hands on it. I have already read the entire manual off the Minelab website, researching accesories, and mapping out potential search sites.
It's been 12 years since I last had a detector (White's 6000... I think) and can't wait to get back into the hobby.

You will need more than a DVD to learn this baby. Perhaps an experienced Explorer club member or friend can assist..Well learned its deadly...just before the snow tonight I dug a 41 Merc. my first silver for 05. This 100 year old park has been thought to be worked out of silver for 10 years and has been beat to death over the years..Good luck with your new toy...keep it simple and go slow...and all will fall into place..

Finding an experienced Explorer user would be Ideal..........But..I don't know any, that lives in the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area!.
I would guess there are some, however.

I already found a large cent in the same area that my previous detector did not although it looks more like a well worn copper disk.... I'm very happy to find that considering I don't really understand the machine yet. Interpreting and learning all the sounds keeps me very busy. It's a great machine. Good luck with yours.

Dan,i got an Explorer xs coming and was wondering how much difference there was between the xs and the Exp11 as far as the learning curve, seems as the biggest difference is faster software and two ids, conductive and ferrous together on the screen. Is there a big difference in depth?Have read and studied all the various forums and posts on both detectors and found a lot of users preferred the xs as having better acoustics,ie:easier target id by sound.Anyway, this new (to me )detector will be a trip i am sure, thanks,Cal

Hi bud, thats how i do my coins also,i have one notebook holder just about full, using the plastic sheets you insert the coin holders in to hold all the coins i have found locally,a real good collection, and another notebook almost full of coins found far away and also purchased at yard sales, flea markets, etc.I take them out occasionally and looking at them brings back a lot of pleasant memories, take care,Cal

The learning curve is steep but if you stay with it for two or three months you begin reaping the rewards. I absolutely love mine and sold two Sovereigns after I took delivery. At first I thought I made a mistake but not anymore. The Explorer II is great.
