the city just dug more dirt up along the street

YA ME TO...sorry caps lock was on. i dont think people relize how old this nieghborhood is. i mean they know its old but i guess they dont think items hang around in the dirt that long. every time i have gone before people just sit and watch and ask..do you really expect to find something here?
I know fresh dirt always catches my attention!

Sorry dobbie that you couldn't get out in the dug up dirt and play......oooops I mean dig up some nice goodies! When they ask you if you think you can find something swinging and digging! Just say, Hey if you don't try ya never will, but if you detect than you most likely will find something, even if it is just a bottlecap or junk! And then t say, I am after the $20.00 gold coins that robbers mighta buried here! That'll make them perk up their ears and go quickly and get to detecting themselves! 
Most people when they find out people are finding some good stuff will buy a detector and start this hobby too, soooooo now we have a lot of competition out there digging it up before we can! 
Hope you can detect tomorrow and maybe there will be more dirt to hunt in, if they tear up some more! Good Luck & God Bless! Hope ya get to dig and hit the jackpot or a leather bag full of dat dar gold!

yes it is in an old part of town. the oldest item found playing in this dirt dates back to 1877. this nieghborhood was the OG here. I just found out from one of the city workers that even before the farm houses there were like 1 room shacks that the RR workers stayed in while building the RR. when they moved on is when the older vicotrians and farm houses went in. some of those are still standing being lived in. i would love to have one of those.

Well, dobbie, you could ask one of the workers and if it is being dumped in a park or near to where you are and can detect there, you and hubby could go and see what you might find! Won't know unless you ask and can't find anything in the dug up dirt unless you try! Soooo, good luck and go get the old coins and relics!
