The Deus Bootcamp . . . . Comments, Plans and Posts

The idea for the Deus Boot Camp was formed from the myriad of comments that Jeremy, myself and others have received since the Deus was first introduced to the States on how to best use it for the type of hunting we tend to do here in the States . . . which is quite different from that done overseas and that is confirmed from my experiences as well. The Deus can be as simple or as complicated as one makes it and what is at the crux of those two paths is how well you understand the machine, the settings and how to adjust it in the field at your location searching for your type of targets.

While there are forums and my book, seeing, touching and doing under the guidance of those that have many hours on the machine in different conditions is often the trick that makes the "light come on" and produce that "AH-HA" moment. So with that in mind, the Boot Camp idea was forged. It allows an audience to do just that and unless there is some other forum that allows that to happen, classroom / in-field time is the only solution to get to that point.

Videos or even video feeds are a method that colleges are using for teaching but having two kids that went through that, they both commented that they learned very little staring at a screen and hoping the instructor addressed their question. Limiting the number of attendees is something that we felt was essential so that personal attention to questions and concerns could be provided. Having 100 people in a room would be great in terms of revenue but it would defeat the entire purpose of holding it in the first place. And as far as videos, let's be honest. I am not Steven Spielberg and this hobby does not have a potential 10,000,000 viewers to buy a video . . . and can any of you actually say that you do not have a bootlegged copy of a movie at your house? Duplication has become the norm and copies albeit they cheap, take money that someone put into making the video and making the copies that were then duplicated for free and distributed. This is not a "quit your day job and sell videos" type of market and opening Pandora's Box where you sell 10 and 1,000 copies are made makes little sense regardless of what people feel should be done.

Never would have thought that developing and hosting a hands-on training class would have generated the amount and type of comments that it has. Those that attended the Knoxville Boot Camp were positive as they left and well satisfied with the minimal investment they made after investing many times that in a piece of equipment that was not providing them with the performance it was capable of. Many are not members of this or any forum which explains why they are not posting their feedback for others to see. Several have called me to say that they have been out trying the techniques demonstrated since returning and not even logging onto the Internet. And finally, some have indicated that they are not into the confrontation that has popped up on posts that were made and are simply sitting on the sidelines.

Some posts were removed but the content was antagonistic and added no value to the atmosphere that Guvner has tried to create on Findmall. This is his forum and his rules . . . . and all of us that post are guests which is often forgotten. When you make a post, try leaving out the innuendos with caveats that say "of course that was not what I was inferring" or other taglines that are trying to soften what you in fact were trying to say. This is not positive and simply trying to get posts deleted . . . . let's all stick to the high road and the forum will be a much more productive place to hang out at.

As far as upcoming locations, we are working on them but it is not as easy as one might think getting a hotel with decent rates for those attending, a meeting room that is not as much as 3 mortgage payments and a site nearby that can support the group that comes to put into practice what was covered earlier that day. Then add into the mix other events that can derail plans such as college or pro football games, NASCAR races, local events . . . we are finding a great assortment of things to do in different cities but that does not help setting up a Boot Camp.

We encouraged attendees to share their experiences and hope that those on Findmall will do so. We would ask that when they do that responses to their posts be kept positive and not antagonistic - either directly or subtly. Just so that there are no posts wondering what happened, posts that start up with the video tape question or "demand" input from those that attended will be removed for the reasons listed above as well as this forum's stated policies on content . . . . . let's keep the forum on a positive note as we all woudl rather be out finding stuff than responding to posts that add no value.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and positive responses or questions are welcome . . . . .

Andy

Nice post Andy.

Agree 100%.

Here is some positive thoughts.......I am positive I am going to a bootcamp!

LOL

Seriously, I love this forum, we all share what we learned or know or what has worked for us, but I am sure not ALL was shared.....That being said no way should a person attending the class, be asked details about the info, now if you want a general outline, fine, but details or Q&A;s, I honestly do not think are to be asked about from anyone. IF we are having an issue or curious or whatever, both Jeremy and Andy, you guys have always offered to help or just let it be known that your avail.....That is class on both your parts! (thank you).

I want to know the general feeling of the class and all the post from attendees confirmed the fact that I want to go!

Now I have a request Andy, stop posting and get that camp near me so I can get to learning!

LOL

Agreed 100%

I don't ever think I'll be able to attend Bootcamp because I live in Podunk Kansas, and working at the hospital keeps me from getting very far from town, but I think this is a great way to expand knowledge on the Deus which we can all benefit from.

I also Agree 100%. I just need to know when another bootcamp is avialable. And hopefully not to far away from were I live. I think that when one attends the camp that you should learn from it . Not to go out and make a video and try to exploit it. If that's the case then why have a camp. You can't beat the one on one experience that the instructor has and is going to show you. Also if you have any problems they can be addressed so that you know how to fix them. Good work , keep it going guys! I have heard nothing but positive results of the camp. Hope to make it to one soon! -Bob

Me and andy will be discussing next months class tomorrow I will let everyone know where we are going and we will start taking sign ups. I can't wait to get you next group of fellas in another bootcamp so we can learn ya this machine. lol

I am up at almost 4 am, pacing the floor, murmuring to myself....."Laughlin, Laughlin, Laughlin...."
