The Devil Left His Bags
=======================

You put the devil out, but you let him leave his bags.

Never quite looked at it like this before...

You got out of a bad relationship because it was bad,
but you are still resentful and angry.
You let the devil leave his bags.

You got out of financial debt, but you still can't control
the desire to spend on frivolous things.
You let the devil leave his bags.

You got out of a bad habit or addiction,
but you still long to try it just one more time.
You let the devil leave his bags.

You said, I forgive you, but you can't seem to forget
and have peace with that person.
You let the devil leave his bags.

You told your unequally yoked mate that it was over,
but you still continue to call.
You let the devil leave his bags.

You got out of that horribly oppressive job, but you're still
trying to sabotage the company after you've left.
You let the devil leave his bags.

You cut off the affair with that married man/woman,
but you still lust after him/her.
You let the devil leave his bags.

You broke off your relationship with that hurtful, abusive
person, but you are suspicious and distrusting of every new
person you meet.
You let the devil leave his bags.

You decided to let go of the past hurts from growing up in an
unstable family environment, yet you believe you are unworthy of
love from others, and you refuse to get attached to anyone.
You let the devil leave his bags.

When you put the devil out, please make sure he takes his bags.

Thanks for the post...and it reminds me of a mens study that I was part of, years ago that warned us of "leaving Eclairs in the refrigerator". Meaning, when you are trying to lose weight or control your eating habits, you dont leave an eclair in the 'fridge to tempt you. You got to get rid of it COMPLETELY!

It is the Spirit in us that give us us life and victory. Why listen to our minds when God prompts us to do the right thing. Sometimes I think my my mind owns me. It doesn't. God does! We are not our past. We are what we are now. Let us make our way by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. As for Satan's bags. Send them back to hell. One way with no return address.

Thanks Steve!!!
Very thought provoking and good advice.
It is hard to do sometimes, I know I have that battle more often than I like. I am going to pass it on to a few places I think it will open some eyes.
Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Good words Steve and I wish I could have had godly wisdom in the one concerning the last verse! I couldn't get close or trust people, men in particular for a long time....because of my ungodly father.....and it is only since I have come to know Jesus personally as my Savior and allowed Him to take over my life that I have learned to love myself and others through Him and His love! I forgave after my parents' death and have had peace ever since! I've been an influence in my youngest daughter, Tami's, life in helping her to understanding her circumstances of not feeling good about herself and getting along better with her bosses and co-workers! She always felt like everyone diliked her, but it was her attitude causing the problems! I'm so glad she has found Jesus and is living in the love of our Savior!

We each usually are our own worst enemy by allowing satan to control our mind instead of letting God control our heart and spirit!

Thanks for posting and I hope old slew-foot takes his baggage with him by saying, Get thee behind me satan and go back into the depths of darkness to where you came from! I am God's child and you have no ownership or control over me, so get thee hence satan, you are a liar and there is no truth in you!

God Bless!
