The F4 = Coins Coins & More Coins.......

Just something I've noticed since having the F4 compared to past detectors, No matter where I've been detecting with the F4 I nearly always come home with a pocket full off coins, whether they be spendable modern, pre decimal, Victorian or older. But always Coins coins & coins LOL Hey I'm not complaining by no means I just wondered if the F4 was sort of bias towards coins while less bias towards other artefacts of different shapes or metals. But then again I did buy the F4 as a coinshooter & that's what it does very efficiently too. I remember 10 plus years ago while using my Laser/Tesoro B1 Hi Power My finds consisted of about 75% coins mixed in with 25% badges, buckles, lead, copper, shapes, buttons & other items types to many to mention..... Duhhh lol sorry guys just hit me I was then relic hunting on ancient farmland. But even so I would have though even though I'm now coin shooting for mainly spendable coins I would have found more than coins coins coins. ????? Although a few gold sovereigns would be OK by me..... Its probably just the sites I visit But it does seem a little strange or not strange vut that the F4 is doing its job......anyone found similar? or thoughts anyone...

I certainly hope its Coins, coins and more coins.. I will be getting my F4 out of customs today... up till now I have been finding coins with a cheap chinese thing quite well.

Hiya Brett, Hey I hope you enjoy your F4 as much as I have & do, The DD coil is an excellent coin winkeler even next to junk, I find the pinpoint largely not needed due to the 11"dd excellent separation but is dead on when used & the 4" coil is a magnet to coins amongst the rough & fantastic on narrow foot tracks, Great depth too for such a small coil. I think I can safely say you won't be disspointed especially when you start ID'ing the goodies before you dig with the 4 tones/ID numbers....

It's one of the more underrated detectors on the market. I can only imagine the F5 with that DD coil, would be even better.

well took the f4 out today for the first time...it was very good..considering I was using a new unlearnt detector...used the 10inch coil for most of it... i will need to put a bit more time in and learn the dd coil properly... got quite a few coins old and new. I have stuck so photos up on my blog.

How is the f4 for finding gold and silver rings and other jewelry?

Are you asking because of size? I don't think you're going to dig earring backs like you do with the F75, but who cares :)

Silver rings will TID at all of the spots you'd dig. Gold rings (except really large ones) will ring in the pull tab range - like every other detector. When I had my F4, I found silver rings but never dug the mid tones to even have a chance at gold.

Although having not been lucky enough to hit any items apart from a small Plated ring. May be due to "if there is non there you won't find any" As in my sites.. Here in UK our most common grade is 9ct=Carat also marked .375, 18ct .750, then 22ct not sure of the number..975? .....But Me personally have not found alot maybe 5-6 rings n a silver bracelet while I have been detecting...Could also be general affluence of your location,,,,Mine is a poor not much wealth past coal mining area, So I'd imagine gold was like hens teeth in these parts lol. Plus also as we know gold is pretty close to ringpulls to the detector so if your notched up you may be missing the goodies n if your not you may get loads of rings, but of course the ones that once opened a tin.......lol

A good plan would be to do a test session with the F4 by burying various sizes of gold at different depths...may do that when the weather picks up a bit

I had a Dream - Coca Cola & Pepsi have decided to pay you 1 cent or a penny for every ring pull u send them......LOL
