The hierarchy of non motorized alluvial gold extraction

landman

Member
At the bottom you have panning, then a small sluice, then perhaps a larger sluice. Any other more efficient methods of moving larger volumes of alluvial gravels
without using a motor in the process?

you missed rocker box.....between pan and sluice...

I love my Rotapan!:wiggle: Those Aussies make some great prospecting equipment! I still enjoy sluicing and even using a rocker box, but that Rotapan can process some material! It took quite a bit of practice to get the hang of it, but once you do, it's great.

Oh yeah, and don't forget the old hand crank drywasher.

Montana rocker.Nelson concentrator.Double helix trommel.Gold cube.
