The late, great, legendary Frank Fish looking for treasure..

Uncle Willy

New member
One of the all time great treasure hunters who found every kind of treasure imagineable and even had his own museum in California to display his finds. Frank is using the detector most original treasure hunters started with - a WWII mine sweeper. THis is what Charles Garrett started with and what lead him to build his own much lighter machine. THese thing weighed a ton and were a bear to keep tuned. I'll be showing pics of many of FRank's great finds.

Good grief!:OI just could NOT see swingin' that beast around for any length of time. Awesome post though. Thank you for sharing. I believe I've seen some old video of him treasure hunting ages ago. I'll post if I can find online. Thanks again. Look forward to seeing some of his finds!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

I remember hearing his name before but don't think I ever saw his picture
Must have been awhile ago. My memory is usually pretty good.
Thanks for sharing this Bill. Good hunting to you ! Gene

Yeah many of those old mine detectors had a battery pack that weighed 40 pounds and we now complain about a four pounder. HA. That's why Charles Garrett built his first detector as he got tired of swinging one of those puppies and having to keep them constantly tuned.
