The Long Hot Summer

Holedigger

New member
Hello Fellow Hunters,

It has been so hot and the ground so dry, I have not been out since, I forgot when? We got a cool front and just a little rain, so I thought I would give it a shot. The ground here is still very dry, even with some rain. We are having a major drought. Anyway, with real dry ground, sweeping very slow, I was able to get a couple of keepers today. A 1940 Merc. and a 1903 Barber. Both worn and not worth much, but I was happy to get them.

Good Hunting...

Not bad looking coins there Holedigger, I think everyone is in the same boat with the dryness and hard packed ground. This is our second driest summer on record and still going. For the Washington area we are expecting 80 deg. for the West Coast for the next 10 days or so. Nice but tough on the hunting. How about posting your goodies a little closer to Xmas Time again???? Myself and other hunters may be interested. Again nice finds.

Yes, it has been a long hot summer and I will be glad when the fall season arrives and we'll get some rain. Nice finds there Holedigger. They might be worn, but they still look nice and fun to bring to the light of day again............:) HH.
