the new 15 inch coil?

nuggetripper

New member
i was wondering about the new 15 inch coiltek,it seems to be a good coin coil but will it work in the gold fields? I'm wondering if anyone has tried it out for gold or just on coins

The new 15" WOT is 7.5khz or MF
IMHO you would be better off with a HF (18.75khz) coil...which is more suited to gold
And probably the nugget would need to be a reasonable size for the big coil to pick it up
But, anythings possible

So far I have only used it on urban "goldfields"

Hi. I have been wondering how good the coiltek 15 inch coil is doing. I have read the reviews but would like to hear from some of the people who have purchased the coil. Have you had success? Is it good on the beach? Is it worth the investment and is the weight really a problem?

regards,

kurgen.

Gonna hit some Civil War camps and see what the WOT will do. With my straight shaft setup I think the weight will be ok, at least not as bad as the Exp/Etrac setup. If not, I have Doc's Swingy Thingy to help balance it out!!................MO

I talked to KellyCo about the 15 Coiltek and could not believe how pricey it is $329, but I was told they did several air test with it and were hitting on quarters at 18 inches in the prospector mode. Sounds as though it may perform pretty well.
