The new Tek G2?

Greetings to all,

I currently use a Gamma 6000 w\8" concentric coil. I live in southern Minnesota which is mostly clay soil. It has been a very good detector and really finds nickels that were missed in the past.

This winter I will be in NM, AZ, CA & CO. My concern is regarding small gold nuggets. Can the gamma hit on these?

Reviews on the new G2 looks like a better choice for the terrain I will be hunting but the machine costs at the lowest $630 and my gamma, only 7 months old, will probably sell for $250. Having both machines are not an option. I have no space for it.

So here I sit trying to make a decision. Is the G2 really that much better?

I would appreciate any info from G2 and\or Gamma 6000 users, Larry...

I know there is a used G2 available for $389 shipped out there. It's definitely great on nickels and gold. Nickel ID is one of the best I've ever used. Tone options are limited.
