The old 6000D or the 4900D pro

If given a choice between a whites 6000D this is the old one with gold colored tubes and handle or a 4900D pro the 1980s 49er. which one is a better buy?

Just to make sure: the 6000d is the original generations (circa late '70s/early '80s), right? You will know for sure, if it has the solid white loop. And just to be sure, the 4900 "pro" has the "950" loop, right? You will know if it is a flat black coil with the hole in the center. If I've got both those facts right, then go with the 4900. The generation of Whites that started coming out with the 950 loops (early '90s?) were superior to the earlier generation with the solid white loops. JMHO.

One thing about the older (white) coils...they can deteriorate and behave erratically once they get so old. Check that out for sure. I definitely second Tom's opinion.
