The old Concord coach

Here are some pics of an original coach used in the old west, now located at the Arizona Historical Society in Tucson. I thought you might enjoy these.
First, the overall size compared to me. Imagine climbing in & out.

Next you can see the spacious room inside :) imagine sitting next to some guy just in from the desert, for 4-5 days. And we complain about air travel ! And those narrow benches in the middle were not for one's legs to stretch out. They were other passenger's seats.

Here's the lighting for those dark desert nights.

The rear end of the coach held all the luggage and stuff. They pretty much tied it on.

The braking system is just one step up from dragging your feet.

And lastly, to make the ride comfy, here's the suspension system.

I love those pics, Steve!

Just like the ones I see in the movies of the early West.

I would love to ride in one of those just for the fun of it...but not toooooooooo far

I would just like experience what the former travelers did.

thanks for sharing.

You will like the pics I post soon! :)

'compact' cars of the past...not much different than the compact cars of today...except the brakes look like they are easier to fix on the coach than on the car. Nice pics Steve. Thanks for showing them...I thought those coaches were bigger.
