The last couple of hunts with the Omega I put on the small 5" coil and worked it along the edges of some roads that go through the woods. These are some of the trashiest areas and while I had been over them several times with both the Omega and F 75 LTD with their larger coils, knew there still had to be some masked targets. And, there were. Did get a nickel trifecta, but won't count it as such as it took two days of hunting to achieve it. 1907 V, no date Buffalo and a 43P war nickel. Got both the Mercury dimes this morning, 1920 and 1937 along with the 40 wheat. Also got a bit of lead, old one piece button and the usual curios and clad a cents. 99 sen, 1 disc and d4 tones. nice job on the nickels! I cant believe you hunt that hot a sens in the trash, whats the trick? don't all that noise drive you crazy? I've got to figure this out.
I actually hunt in trash a lot. Thats about the last areas we have to hunt on many spots that still contains old coins and other goodies. I probably would have missed one of the Merc's if running much less then 99 sen with the Omegas' modulated tone and my old ears. All it was, as it was, was a faint high tone tic among the other mix of tones at a near 6" depth. Anyway, high sen is the way I hunt and am used to it. Oh, and thanks for sending down some of your weather.
No wonder Mr. Moderator is in fits (of laughter)
Nice hunting Jim! Great range of targets (as usual)...
