........so please give me a hand over here. I recently ordered a Detector Pro Headhunter Pulse. So I am new to pulse and hope the PI crowd will accept me. I am doing quite a bit of research so that I will understand what I'm doing out in the field. On the Headhunter Pulse and I've noticed on other pulse units too..... that there is a frequency switch. For optimum performance it should be set properly. The recommendation is to use a nickel and tune to it. I did read, that by tuning to the nickel, you are setting the detector to be hot on men's medium sized wedding bands/rings. If this is true would it not be better to set the frequency by using a small ladies 14K band ( for example) and tune to it? I'm thinking that the detector would then be more sensitive to the smaller ladies band which often contain diamonds. If this was done would it still hit hard on the larger sized, men's rings?? Thanks for your replies and hopefully, suggestions for setting this control.
