My Dad was a truck driver most of his life and on a few occasions, in the early sixties, he hauled knitting mills into Mexico and stayed to oversee their set up. I'm in the process of building a display case for all of the worthy finds I've made at the old homeplace and I needed one more nice find to round it out.
Yesterday I found a 1959 Peso there. From what I've gathered this coin is 10% silver but I'm still not sure whose bust is on the reverse. It gave a nice flutey signal but lacked that high pitch of a U.S. coin. I almost passed on it. I was beginning to worry that the empty space in my display would have to represent the find I never made.
