Hi, Folks. While I have yet to find silver with my Safari, I am very optimistic. Today I was detecting a home site where I had found a silver ring and I got a clear 37-38. I dug up a 1930 wheatie. It was 8 inches down! I am talking a clear and repeatable signal from all angles. I see silver in my future as soon as my ruptured disc heals completely. Loving this machine.

If you get a Safari over silver, it will tell you about it. Its an absolute silver hound.
 
Yes, it will scream when you have silver under the coil! The other day, I got a solid 39 together with that high pitch tone that is a couple of octave's higher than a quarter signal!!! that clearly shouted SILVER!!! It was the silver ring I posted the other day. Yes, it definitely is a "silver hound"!!!
 
Tones are not adjustable on the Safari.
 
I know exactly what a ruptured disc is all about having had one a few years ago:stretcher:. It wasn't until I had an epidural (cortisone and steroid combo) in the exact spot that I was able to get around. Thankfully, the doctor knew where to put that needle and it helped me to be mobile again:wiggle:!

I don't know your settings on your Safari but you may want to go in A.M........no discrimination and as high a sensitivity setting as you can (around 15-16 it depends on where your detecting, to allow you to hunt deeper. Years ago, silver coins etc; could be found closer to the surface but with the interest in m.d. the surface silver targets are getting harder to find. Even the guy's that have been m.d-ing for many years share that reality too.
The FBS sounds/tones can be a little hard on the ears and frustrating at first, but I almost exclusively hunt in a.m. everywhere to ensure I don't miss any targets when it nulls out in discrimination. It gets really interesting when you detect around park tables and benches with pull tabs spaced about 2 inches apart!!! The tones don't bother me at all and I see them as a great asset to figure out what my coil is passing over. Again, I think we all have to go slow and deep to get the silver coins that the cheaper detectors have missed. Good luck!

That is great advice, Gold. I have been using AM more and getting used to it.
 
not only does the Safari find silver but copper gold I have found almost every coin the US has made except a gold one all with the Safari you must dig all signals I have dug Indian Head cents that read 20
