The Sov gt with a wot is an amazing thing.....

Have had the sov for about 2 weeks and the wot for less than a week..... I am getting the sounds down pretty well.... I dig no iron, very few bottle tops (only the deep ones) and no shallow foil.... Pulltabs I know the sound but dig cause its so close to good stuff..Clad is simple, i guess right 95% of the time.....

Iron mask is great.... If I get a null and another sound mixed in I can work the coil and find the goody..... I don't know how many holes i've dug and when your going over scoopings to find the target there are nulls in there....

The wot is a beach hunters dream.... I easily cover twice as much ground..... And it seems you don't need to slow down your sweep speed ...I hunt at a medium speed, but have tested deeper targets and even going fast over them you will still get a beep, or a change in threshold...

W/ the wot in the wet sand where the black sand is just a few inches below the surface it gets a bit chattery...Have to turn the sensitivity down....It seems in general I have the sensitivity lower all the time compared to the tornado....

I don't know if it is much deeper yet, but dig dimes at least 8" and quarters sound loud at a foot...

Still don't know what gold sounds like......Hopefully it wasn't one of the foil warbles that I left in the sand....

Now I just need an excal for in the water, hate wasting energy digging iron........

If your not digging your foil hits..... you going to not find the small jewelry & chains  The medium tones are the sound of $$$$$$$ at the Beach with the GT & wot ...... what makes the wot so unique is that it loves small jewelry & DEEP ..... which most big coils can't do

good luck on your next hunt

borntofli,

I'm right there with you; had my excal one week, getting a gt soon - having a blast working with it; pretty much digging everything right now except bottle caps since I can ID those - rusty ones throw me sometimes, but I'm learning, and learning, and learning + having fun with it all. Pretty sure I did my homework correctly this time; made the right choice in machines, and spending the time with it to learn it. This is one machine I may never learn everything about, but that's ok, cause I like experimenting, exploring, and seeing what I can do or not. I also prove to myself that I was right or wrong with it, and intend to keep doing that. I hope I never get tired of using this/these things!

Stories like this remind me of why I love my Sov. To me it is still the best overall detector around. The combination of the Sov's ability to find good targets deep and in trash still sets it apart. I will grant you there is a learning curve, but it is well worth it.

it is a great combination for most beaches, thats for sure...if conditions are right and you chase the whisper signals dont be surprised when you pull a dime up from 15 inches....its not the norm but its happened to me several times....i find it usually gets best depth in the damp sand as tide is going out....

Born...you should run lower sensitivity with the WOT compared to the Tornado. Better lower that higher where the GT becomes to erratic. Keep tweaking that sensitivity as you learn the GT with the WOT and watch how deep some of the coins you find will be. Dig those repeatable whispers. You will be surprised.
