The Tesoro Bandido II

Hi All ! :)

I started a thread on findmall July 01, 2009 11:40 PM titled Bandido II uMax All Metal mode Sensitivity Level.

If you have the time and interest, it would be good to read the above thread to possibly gain some knowledge and have some background, as I will be making references in this post to things said in some of the replies. The post number is 17,999328 if it can be used to pull up the thread. Otherwise, use the following method....it works for me.
___________________________________________________________________________

Use the findmall SEARCH tool, then enter or select the following underlined data.

In the Search Messages window enter Bandido II uMax All Metal mode Sensitivity Level

In the Search Authors window enter ToddB64

In the Forums list, scroll down and select Tesoro Forum

In the Options windows, select Show results as threads and All Dates

And last, click-on the SEARCH button.

With reference to "When High Sens. causes False Signals or Chattering", to briefly summarize the replies to my July 01, 2009 thread, most VLF detectors have the All Metal mode's Sensitivity level factory fixed at some maximum setting that will not cause false signals or chattering in average conditions. One exception cited by JB(MS) is the Garrett 1987 model ADS Master Hunter, which has separate control knobs for setting the Sensitivity in Disc. and All Metal mode and there might be other more recent brands/models that have this capability. But, as Monte said in his reply to my thread (paraphrased here) the Sensitivity control is generally tied in with the Disc. circuitry section, separate from the AM mode's fixed max. Sens. setting. The inference being that the Sens. control does not affect the AM mode and this is also confirmed on page #10 of the instruction manual for the B2

tabman........Thanks for the hyperlink ! That will make it faster and easier for folks to access my thread titled Bandido II uMax All Metal mode Sensitivity Level. Now maybe someone will be more likely to answer my questions !

All the best,
ToddB64

In the All Metal mode, the sensitivity is wide open.

Robert.........Assume ou are paraphrasing and confirming what I said in the paragraph copied below from my thread-starter post Sept. 22, 2012.

Thanks,

The main answer was given before, but this time you've brought up the additional dilemma of using a 'noisy' All Metal mode.

Naturally, we are referring the the traditional, Threshold-based All Metal mode and not reference to a zero-rejection setting in the Discriminate mode (as found on the Compadre, Eldorado, Tej

Robert can Tesoro adjust the sensitivity higher for the all metal mode if need be?

tabman

There is not a pod on the circuit board to make the adjustment. So the answer is no, we cannot adjust the sensitivity in the all metal mode.
