The Vaquero "nailed" a couple nice coins

Got out today at a large field this afternoon, the field is divided into 5 or 6 baseball fields. Ground is still pretty saturated but getting better. Had the whole place to myself, I wandered around in different areas like a chicken like its head cut off finding clad here and there. I decided to go to the ball field way in the back next to the woods and every coin I dug was Canadian except for a 1942 Wheat penny and a coin I have never found before a 1939 France 50 centimes coin. The France coin was close to the old wooden bleachers and only 2 or 3 inches deep. I also found two big nails, one was about the size of a number 2 pencil or a bit bigger and about 18" or so long. I might get time to take some pictures tomorrow. But for now here is a picture of a France 50 centimes like the one I found that I got off the web. Mine isn't as clean.

Great finds, sounds like you have more hunting in that area.....excellent!

Nice site by the description of it and nice hunt. Nice to see you found them with the Vaquero, I just purchased one and it should arrive Monday...I'm sleepless past few nights now....LOL

Nice going on the Canadian coins! I'm impressed. How close are you to the border? Did you get the 'high' tone or 'low' tone Vaquero?

Nice coins Ski and how about that Vaquero You going to hang on to it LOL Thanks ForPosting

Also tabman I dont think the Vaq comes in Both tones to my understanding they are all the low tone and you have to send it in to have it set with a high tone I was going to but decided to leave it low tone after talking to a few guys on here Also just traded aShadow X2 for a New Tejon will get it next week never tried one but its a Tesoro so has to be good
Now Im taking the Vaq for a Strolll

Couldn't get a very good picture, the smaller nail is 6 inches and the bigger nail is 10 inches, wish the coin picture would of come out better, I am no photographer that's for sure.

I live about 12 miles from the Ogdensburg

Nice finds Steve, that 50 centimes coin is old enough that it should have some silver friends in the ground waiting to be dug up.
I will get ahold of you tomorrow to see if the pony express package made it there yet....HH

Very good find, I found a 20 franc in a school yard, cool coin, bet thear is some good stuff in that spot
