Here is a question for everyone that I've been meaning to ask for some time.
The thin gold rings that I have managed to detect have never been higher than 32 on my Safari. Has anyone detected a gold ring that came in higher than 32? The lower the karat of gold..the higher the alloy i.e. copper etc; it contains and so will tend to register higher T.I.D. number wise. Also, how did the ring sound in relation to how a clad or copper penny sound? What I'm really wondering is that am I missing some light weight, thin gold rings at say 33-34 mistaking them for a clad or copper penny? I find that sometimes, pennies can register 33 and then bounce up to 35-36 or even more depending on the chemicals/fertilisers and corrosion of the coin.
Feel free to comment and if anyone has found thin gold rings more than 31-32-33, and sounded like a penny, I'd like to know! Thanks in advance!
P.s. Like most of us, I pay way more attention to the sounds than the numbers BUT......if they sound like a penny, I'll be digging more 33+ numbers!!!
