Thinkin bout getting a Ace 250

I'm happy wt my Discovery 2200 but I can get this for Ace 250 for cheap. Its used but told only has been out twice. Im going to go look at it 2morrow. What kind and how many batteries does it take. I will want to take some wt me.

I'm hoping it will find a coin a little deeper than the 2200, since it has a bigger coil it should. If I get it ,,,I will be asking some questions. Im not new to this hobby and have used different detectors b4 so I should be able to learn it quickly. I will let you know. lol

Batteries for the ACE 250 are 4 double A"s

Go for it!:thumbup:That Ace 250 is a coin magnet!:detecting:You won't regret it. My wife uses an Ace 250 and she shows me up quite often. I got that 10"x14" excellerator search coil for it and I've been playin around with it quite a bit here lately. It's alot of fun. She won't use that big search coil 'cause it's too heavy for her. I'm seriously considering picking up an Ace 250 for myself so we can be a pair of Aces:biggrin: Best of luck to ya'! Happy Hunting!:)

GET THE ACE 250 Used or not its a good machine. It was well underpriced to start with.
The Ace is truely a mid-range detector, well built, and has five modes of operation.
You won't regret it.

Set it to 4 bars or 50% Sens., too much Sens. results in a lot of false signals. Run it in the Coins mode at first. This will find you coins and a little junk, without too many junk signals at first. Be sure the coil cable is wrapped tight without stressing it with the first loop going OVER the rod. The coil is real sensitive and will pick up the coil cable if it's flopping around. You're gonna love the 250.

I just went and picked it up. $150.00. It looks like brand new, just as he said. Scrolled through everything just to see what makes it tick. Seems simple enough. lol

It is different than the 2200 in many ways so it will take me a bit to get used to it. Without even detecting wt it yet,, I see that pinpointing is a huge difference. And at this point I think that is going to be my biggest challenge. After that ,I think its all downhill. Time will tell.

I'm going out now for the next few hours to give er a try. Thanks for the help everybody.
