Thinking about Safari

Hey all. I am thinking about upgrading to a Safari. Can't afford an E-Trac so I think this is my next best option. Currently run an AT-Pro and have done well with it, but I know too many people who have E-Trac's and do better than I. What are the similarities between E-Trac and Safari? Does the Safari still have E-Trac depth and conductivity numbers?
Thanks

Hi Pastor Bob,
I have both the Safari and the Etrac. The Safari was my first machine. It is basically the same machine as the Etrac with just a few less bells and whistles. The Etrac will give you a bit more information. The Safari will go just as deep and has the same separation/recovery speed as the Etrac. The mantra of most if not all Minelabs is SLOWER IS BETTER!
I still use my Safari quite a bit. I keep it up in Ga. and relic hunt with it up there. Not the best machine for the red clay soil but still finding some CW items. Don't know your soil conditions, but the Safari works great here in Fl. and at the beach, going from dry to wet sand with no problem.
I encourage you to scroll down the posts in this forum. There are a lot of GREAT finds made by the Safari. I believe Prep has written a lot about it since he has owned both as well. Sold his Etrac and swears by the Safari. Croakersmoker78, kschae4, goldstrike all are kickin butt with this machine. But like most things in life it is....location location location!
Hope this helps, HH
Bunker
