thinking about the 75ltd how good is it in tall grass or times when you cant get the coil down

Situations that dictate you hold your coil higher than normal is probably the biggest advantage of using an LTD in boost. It can offer depth and target recognition advantages in virtually all instances but the coil off the soil is the ultimate. Some folks might want to index to the position of "well I don't have to keep the coil up where I hunt so I won't see the maximum benefit, right?" To those I'd just remind them of a few things. Even if you can hunt virtually on the deck, MOST detectorists have varying degrees of "sloppy swing", i.e. golf swinging, not paying close attention to coil height especially after several hours of hunting and particularly after hours of low or no finds, or even inadequate overlap. The LTD, when in a boost mode, will inherently help eliminate the negative effects of those practices.

Assuming that the remaining detectable targets are distributed thoroughout "the plow zone", hunt the site with an original 75 (or whatever you have presently) heavily and then when you think you have it pretty well toasted, take an LTD out there and prepare to be VERRRRY happy!!! That is the exact scenario I experienced at one of the sites where I did my initial testing with my proto 75 and the results were huge!! No hype, no BS.....just "a Joe Friday" all the way!
