thinking of a new 1

Im thinking of getting another MD & wondering which 1 is better mostly deep coin a jewlry , so DEUS OR cz3D I LIKE THEM BOTH ANY THOUGHTS? THANKS z

Well we are on a Whites forum so I would not recommend any you asked about. But I will say if you like tweaking a metal detector , then a Whites V3i . I have one and it's a great machine . I just don't give detectors long enough time. I need to start. Because I like the V3i . GS

I have been hunting off and on since 1975 and I have had a bunch of Detectors. I bought the V3i because I was tired of wondering what the next best Detector upgrade would be like. Although it was a struggle setting up the V3i, I think I am more happy with it than any other I have had. Since in my opinion there is no better Detector I never have to worry about upgrades until some new mind blowing technology is discovered.

Why?

What do you have now?

Have you tried optional coils to enhance the performance of what you have now?

Only '1'? Depending on what you currently own and use, there might be several detector makes and models to pick from, or it might be that you are considering something that could actually be a step backwards in all-around performance.

As a rule, coins can generally be found deeper than most jewelry. Also, a lot of desired jewelry, gold and silver, can be smaller is size and shape and conductivity than the bulk of the coins are, and that makes them more difficult to find. Thus, anticipating smaller-size, lower-conductivity, odd-shaped and less 'detectable' jewelry is difficult, especially when also trying to get above average depth of detection.

What types of sites do you plan to hunt to find 'deeper coins' or 'deeper jewelry?'

Matter of fact, what do you consider 'deep' to be at most traditional hunt sites?

Why would you like these two models? One is new with ultra modern 'digitally' designed circuitry and an abundance of programming options, while the other is older, kind of antiquated, top-heavy, and lacks a lot of the newer adjustments that could add to a functional, versatile detector. You have a fixed, segmented, limited Discrimination system compared with a wide range variable Disc. adjustment, and other differences.

Also, as mentioned, this is a White's Forum and your direct questions ought to go to the Deus and Fisher Forums. However, depending upon what you own, have used, coil selection, sites searched and your belief in what 'depth' might be, I have one comment/suggestion from the White's line-up.

If you like a multi-programmable detector (which I usually don't), then White's offers the very programmable V3i and the simpler-to-adjust VX3 (this is my preference of the two). If you prefer a detector with more knob-adjustment (which I generally do), and you want a very functional/versatile detector that can get very good depth of detection at a modest price, there is the MXT All-Pro.

I suggest you consider the category and pick one. My encouragement is the MXT All-Pro, use a 9" coil for open area searches and a 6½" coil for trashier places. Since this is a White's Forum I'll suggest those models. If you really want a different brand, check other forums, but I wouldn't personally suggest either of the models you mention. I'd go with something newer and different and impressive in performance.

Well maby ill just stick with my M6 for a while, i have 3 coils 9in- 5.3 & sef 6x8 and i do find a lot of stuff, but some day ill get something different, thanks Z

You already have a great machine and coils  and i'm not being biased at all lol The M6 is a great machine and has found some nice old coins and tokens for me. But I get the same way I think I need something different, give them a try and always come back to my MXT Pro and M6. They work very good. However, the only new machine that has caught my eye and peaked my interest in the last year or two is the Racer by Makro/Nokta. I have decided to get one a give it a try when they are released next month and see how it goes.

For park and yard hunting, the M6 with the 4x6 coil is the only machine I trust. Why try to fix (by purchasing another detector) what ain't broke?

In sacto, went yesterday big old pk, lots of bottle caps- found a few clad and 1 silver heart for a braclett, always looking for cool spots to hunt, have a friend who bought a MXT-Pro used it 1 time and put it away and now hes thinking of selling it I know he paid at least $850 with tax , I might offer him $450 when I start working in march, but I still want something different ( brand) a good 1 just to change things up Z

I am originally from Lodi just south of Sac. I never hunted William Land Park but it would be fun. Lots of great places in N. Cal. I would be out by the rock piles left from dredges people still make great finds out there. Get the MXT-Pro if your friend will sell it to you. It is a great detector very easy to use. It ground balances so fast I never even worry about it. Just turn it on and go.

Well here is my input on it all. I have owned quite a few detectors including the Fisher CZ models. The CZs do get depth but is easily fooled by deep iron such as nails. I eventually ventured over to the Whites machines and I havent looked back. I have owned the MXT Pro M6 Mx5 and now even a V3i. All great machines but the V3i is a little much for me but however you will not find a better machine. My favorite out of all these machines is the M6. A very simple but powerful machine. When it hits solid you know you got something good! I have found more good finds with the M6 than any machine. But that is just my personal preference.
