Thinking to start with Garret Ace 250 - Whats your opinion?

First sorry for my English its low i know it =].
Second I'm new with this hobbies.
Third I'm thinking to purchase Garret Ace 250 for start - And i need yours opinion about that.
How is the Ace 250?
where is his weakness?
can i dive with him?
Maybe there are better toy?

also what can i type on youtube to find more videos about Metal Detecting?

good question...
for YOUTUBE just enter Ace250
No diving with Ace...coil can get wet....no water should touch where batteries go or where controls are.
Weakness?????? That is a very hard question. I will try to think of one.

The only weakness I can think of is that you won't be able to put it down. It will detect anything metallic thats in the ground..you just have to decide if you want to dig it up or not. Excellent for coins and relics...if I had the money I'd buy another one and keep it under my pillow.

I started with and still use the ACE250

I have had the 250 for almost a year. You will find good stuff. Take some time to learn metal detecting. I had no idea how good the ACE really is, but I am more convinced every day.Good luck and Happy Hunting.

It's a great detector! Just don't get the housing wet in water. Not for diving either.

You couldn't pick a better unit to start with or finish with for that matter. It's the top selling detector out there. You can't dive with it. That kind of detecting requires a special machine. And you are joining the best and most popular detecting forum on the internet so you're off to a roaring start. The archives of this forum are loaded with info on the 250.

You can find gold rings and jewelry with the 250 but it is not a nugget hunting machine per se.

Since I got the sniper coil, I just decided it would be foolish to get another detector of ANY kind. I just kinda feel content with it-I got a beep-dig, notch, a/m with ID, and most gold rings are pretty close to the surface. Quite a change from wanting to sell it in a garage sale a couple of years ago. So consider the sniper coil with it and I bet it would find a large gold nugget. Keep the housing about a foot out of the water-nah-forget that. I dropped my GTA 300 in the water accidently and when I tried to dry it out I dropped it AGAIN and ripped a couple of components off the circuit board. It's remains are still out in the gagage.

SEriously though NO she's not for underwater usage (Excepting the coils)
And Like one said it'll become your every awoken want to be outside looking for buried what nots and is'es
So yes BUY THE ACE 250!!!!!

The Ace 250 is a good started machine but it is not a gold nugget machine and it
cannot go under water. If you go under with the Ace 250 you will ruin the machine.
You can use the Ace 250 on the beach with no problems and you can put the coil under water
but not the whole machine. Keep the control box dry.

Garrett makes machines specially for under water diving. If your interested in that then
buy an underwater machine.

What kind of detecting do you want to do?
