Third Hunt Of The Season

I headed out to an old favorite spot of mine. I soon found with my cover alls that I was dressed too warm and was getting hot, so I only hunted for about an hour before I couldn't take it anymore. I ended up digging a wheat penny about 6 to 7" deep. There was iron in the hole but the wheatie gave me a good signal from any direction I swept over it. I was 99% sure it was going to be a wheat. I also dug a button about the size of a pea about 6 to 7" deep too.

I consider that wheat a victory because we have hit this spot with just about every machine you can think of over the years. The 12x10 was stable enough to hunt with at full blast sensitivity but I turned it down to about 11PM on the dial just because I was only in the mood for a totally stable threshold today. Plan to go back there maybe tomorrow dressed better for the tempertures. This is one of my deep coin spots. There isn't a lot of trash so it's a nice place to see just how deep the 12x10 will find coins for me. I've dug a indian and a v nickle in seperate holes there about 11" deep before.
