This hard head of mine.....

I took out my AT Pro out for its 1st hunt. Went to a couple different places and was unable to get anything but a '65 quarter. Discourged, I went home thinking I need more training on this machine. I sat down and watched some more videos and then It dawned on me what I was doing wrong. Having used a GTI 1500 for years, I always watch the target ID before digging and thats what I'm doing now....watching the TDI numbers. I realized that I should be listening to the audio report. This is more accurate in detecting targets in trashy areas. Well, we'll try again maybe tomorrow and see what happens.

Hi cc8137

It does take time cc. Stick with it (like myself), learn the language the AT Pro speaks in different conditions, and things will start to fall in place on it's own.:)

Glad to hear things fall into place. I had a high dollar Minelab that I hated. It spoke a foreign languge that I never did learn how to interprit. I was spoiled by my GTI 2500 and my ACE250 that spoke fluent English. I had the 2500 with the nice lady who told me when I was screwing up and my solo hunts got lonesome without her. Onus

My last MD was a ML as well. Spent more time fiddling with that thing than actually swinging it. No fun at all with that one (none). Sold it with no regrets.

The AT Pro just puts the fun back into metal detecting now. I still have a lot to learn about mine, but the fun factor is their and ( to me anyways) that speeds up the learning curve.:)

It took me 2 weeks hunting every day to get the hang of it, and I've been hunting over 10 years, I was use to the other machines I have, I love the Pro
