I used to be a deputy in north east WA many years ago. It was a poor county so our entire department consisted of Sheriff, undersheriff and 6 deputys. Because of funding cutbacks I got laidoff and moved back to CA. Almost half of my department were killed in seperate incidents over the next few years after I left. My sergent was killed in a plane crash while it was looking for pot growers. Very mysterious and never solved, I would have been in that plane if I was still on that department. George and I did a lot of things together. Two others were killed by drunk drivers.
