My buddy and I headed off to the Military demo grounds this morning. Although its been pounded since the mid 80's when the housing was removed, it still gives up a goodie here and there with careful sniffing and with our dry conditions is one of the few spots one can still dig on. We both have the DST F 75's and each of us had on the small 5" coil.
Over all, not a lot of good dug targets, which is pretty typical for this spot, but we each managed a few wheat cents and I did get my coil over 2 silver objects.The first was a 39d Mercury that was surrounded by low and mid tones with the occasional high tone tic intermingle and some id flashes of 74-76. The 2nd silver was a near screamer showing 84-85. Far more often then not such targets are a copper or brass piece on this site, but on occasion a nice surprise does come to light. Such was the case this morning with the 925, 6.9 grams of silver ring. Along the way I got 4 40's and 50's era wheats as well as a few more modern coins. Also shown is a 63d Rosie I got off the spot yesterday morning. It was a hot four hour hunt. HH jim tn
