This mornings hunt! :fisher::fisher:

Skipped the gym this morning and was on the old Military housing demoed site a little before 6a. Dug until 9:30 and my t shirt was soaked by 8:15. As CZ says, "some like it hot", but I'm not one of the some.

Anyway, had a good hunt. Un-raveled two small coin spills. The first was a combination of slaw, tab tales and 3 wheat cents. Numbers all over the place, but enough good tones and higher readings to dig. The second spill contained a strip of metal, a 44 Merc and a 57 Washington. The strip of metal is shown with the Merc and Washington quarter. The other 44 Merc was just a soft tone that said dig me, but would only hit from one direction. That being, swinging out from a small sidewalk rather then parallel to it.

Dug a fair amount of trash, mainly coming from digging nickel readings. And, didn't dig one. The first picture is a shot of one small portion of the site I was hunting on this morning. Also included is a shot of a 45d Merc and a 43p war nickel I dug on two recent hunts. If you are in the south and digging, be careful. It is darn hot out there.

I was swinging my F 75 DST and had on the 5" coil. That little thing is a laser and gets nice depth. HH jim tn

Great hunt, finds, and really great advice about your strategy/coil work! :clapping:

As I get deeper into this sport, a guy treasures a post like this...instead of hunting along the edge of a walk swinging coil parallel in a 'normal' fashion, a guy can successfully unmask hidden coins by side stepping along the path and swinging for perpendicular masked targets!.

Really nice work in horrible (to us) weather, Jim! A guy as to be up and out early now.....I dont know how some can hunt all day in this Sun and heat...nice pics of an oldish sidewalk at the edge of a sports field too, perfect signs of a decent location to give it a go.......Good on ya for making bank and doing us a great post!:thumbup:

Nice hunt Jim! Congrats on the silver spill! :thumbup:

Seems like 5-6am is the best time to hunt IF you can find some soft ground...one has to be creative and keep eyes peeled for opportunities this time of year!

WOW! Good hunt Jim. More silver! You must pretty much need a bank vault to hold all that silver? :clapping: Good detecting Jim.....Z

Nice hunt jim. Good job of sniffing around the junk!! hh rick in mi

Nice finds Jim!

Seems like the machines just run better early in the am too, less EMI, cooler ground, I don't know, but seems to work.

Brian
