Rain kept me and my detectors house bound yesterday, so this morning with clearing skies and patches of sunshine showing, I was ready for a good morning hunt. Shortly after getting started with the LTD and 11" coil I hit a area that started giving up mini's and modern lead....along with a lead fishing weight.???? The spot is several miles from any fishable water. Shortly after recovering the fresh dropped 2001 quarter I got a good lock on 58 reading. This turned out to be the 1900 IH cent. Which, is in great shape with a full Liberty. About ten minutes later I got a good quarter reading and after kicking away the leaves I spotted the Washington quarter and thought, "that baby looks like silver." Sure enough, a 1942. It basically was just laying there. Along the way I got a few other curios and whats its. The marble came to light when I dug the lighter. And, of course, no good hunt is complete in these woods without the 3 Merry Widows showing up. As Mud would imply, they were 3 active Widows in their time. This morning I ran sen at 99, disc 0, 4h tones, bp mode and gb of 52-54. Hope all that gets out can dig some goodies this morning. HH jim tn
