I'm sure looking forward to using the safari on the OBX beaches.. I'm really confident it will perform absolutely perfect !! ( just like my explorer did )... Hopefully, hurricane earl left some gold deposits lurking in the sand.... Hope there enough room in my subie wagon to haul it all back to Ohio.. LOL.... Will let everyone know how the detector operated when I get back..

See ya Mark ( ohio )

Oh Ya.. if anybody plans on being in the area the week of the 11-18 pm me and I'll well get together..

Good luck, sounds like fun. Take mine to the beach here and it does just fine from dry sand to wet sand. Also hit Aruba in May and had so good success. Hit it at night after everyone was off the beach. Had it all to myself! Take plenty of water with you! Look forward to update and pictures!

I was at Corolla couple weeks back make sure you clean detector each night with fresh water keep sand out of shaft or it will lock up.Find high end small LED light to tape to shaft because no backlight on Safari to see screen because you will be night hunting due to heavy crowds on beach if weather stays nice.Safari does go deep make sure you have a great sand scoop.I think the zinc ferry comes out every night and spreads hundred of coins each night you will have a great time.

score any gold from the sands up there???? How was your overall coin count for your week hunting??

Thanks Mark ( ohio )

We found hundreds of coins all new not very old this was my first beach hunt.Locals were giving me tips towards end of my vacation hunt the low spots on beach or in water. You are very lucky to go after big storm you got a real chance of finding older coins.I did not find any gold but I walked around with a local in waste high water and he found 3 gold and 1 silver with garret detector that was water proof.Found a lot of sinkers and cast toy cars and sun glasses and keys bottle openers.
