Here's one from an 8 year Cold War nuke vet. My father paid his dues in 5 amphib assaults and three years in the South Pacific.

I'm a Cold War vet too...11 years USAF from 1969 to 1980.

Hey, 1978 to 1986! Ever get stationed at FE Warren? Outside of the Presidio of Monterrey SAC landed me there my whole time.

Amen Pete and I salute you, also, for serving! May the blessings of God surround each of you for needs met and healings done for you, them and families! Amen! Ma Betty

Never made it there...2 tours at K.I. Sawyer AFB, MI (once as an Admin Clerk and the second as Security Police (LE Flight Chief) - that was SAC. Also a SAC detachment at RAF Mildenhall in the UK. Started out as a Ground Radio Operator so had 3 AFSCs to my name. Got out as a SSgt. The promise of a retirement was just a lie.

Yeah I started out in the dental clinic and finished as a launch facility manager. Had my fill and there was a RIF going on so said good bye. Did my duty and moved on!
